BBQ Asian Salmon




Recently I felt like salmon for supper, and wanted to try a new recipe. I looked through books and online and finally came up with a short list of ideas to combine.

First I marinated the salmon in a combination of soy sauce, brown sugar, oil, crushed garlic and lemon juice for 1 hour. Then I put the salmon and marinade in a little foil boat made of tinfoil. I BBQ’d it on medium till the salmon was done to my liking. You can use whatever combination of ingredients you like, or even your favorite bottled sauce.

For the pasta, I cooked spaghetti on the stove until al dente, then drained it and rinsed with cold water.  Back in the pot I added a little oil, some water and steamed carrots, Napa cabbage and green peppers.  I then added the pasta back to the pot to heat up with a bit of soy sauce and rice wine vinegar to flavour the noodles and veggies. When it was heated, I removed the pot from the stove and sprinkled it with a touch of sesame oil.

To serve the dish I placed the pasta on the plate and topped it with the salmon. To finish it off I sprinkled the dish with sesame seeds and a bit of fresh cilantro.

It’s a tasty meal for any night.
